The Springfield Museums offer access to five different museums, including the George Walter Vincent Smith Art Museum, the Springfield Science Museum, the Michele and Donald D'Amour Museum of Fine Arts, the Amazing World of Dr. Seuss Museum, and the Dr. Seuss National Memorial Sculpture Garden, all under a single admission. Always on view is a mix of permanent collections and temporary exhibitions that cover a huge range, everything from archival materials, painting and sculpture to transportation, weaponry, and all things Dr. Seuss, a Springfield native. There is a planetarium in the Science Museum, the Art Discovery Center in the G.W.V. Smith Art Museum, and a museum store on the museum campus.

The Worcester Art Museum is recognized for its 35,000-piece collection of paintings, sculpture, decorative arts, photography, prints, drawings and new media created over the last 5 millennia. Works include those by El Greco, Monet, Rembrandt, Gauguin, van Gogh, Renoir, Cézanne, Picasso, Copley, Gilbert Stuart, Paul Revere, and Nam June Paik. Special exhibitions showcase the masterworks, seldom-seen gems, and important works on loan—including some contemporary art. Of note are the floor mosaics from the ancient city of Antioch (Syria) in the entrance, the Japanese print collection, and the “Arms and Armor” collection. There is a café, museum shop, and library on the premises.
